Alyson Sheppard is the editor in chief and publisher of Edible Lower Alabama. She grew up in Foley.
Alyson is also a food, beverage and travel writer whose work regularly appears on the pages of GQ, Esquire, Popular Mechanics and more. In 2017 she was a top-four finalist for the Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) Spirited Award for Best Cocktail & Spirits Writer. That same year, she was a top-three finalist for the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) award for best Narrative Beverage Writing.
She lives in Gulf Shores with a lot of ferns and a tiki mug shaped like Ernest Hemingway's head.
