The Beach House Cookbook by Mary Kay Andrews
Mary Kay Andrews’ coastal-friendly recipes will get you in the mood for a beach house vacation.

Recipes designed to put you in a permanently carefree, coastal state of mind all year long.

Mary Kay Andrews knows the coast. As author of breezy beach reads such as The Weekenders and Summer Rental, the writer has a knack for transporting readers to sunshiney bliss.

She lives it, too: She and her family split their time between Atlanta—where Andrews was once a journalist at the Atlanta Journal Constitution—and Tybee Island, Ga., where they restore beach homes.

Now Andrews has added recipe-writing to her repertoire. Her first cookbook, The Beach House Cookbook, is filled with recipes that she perfected while living on the island. These include fresh, local dishes such as roasted oysters and grits 'n' greens casserole. Below, try out three from her book: fried okra cakes, asparagus and seafood quiche and a chilled zucchini soup known as vichyssoise.

Find The Beach House Cookbook on Amazon or at a local bookshop near you.
