December is the month for persimmons, pecans and Gulf oysters in Alabama. The in-season edibles are scarce during the holidays, so pop open your jars of canned produce from seasons past or bags of frozen fruits and veggies to bulk up meals. Look for these at your local farmers market, fish monger or U-Pick.
